Information About Beating The Odds Services & Treatments

Intensive Behavior Intervention ( IBI) is a type of therapy that targets a broad range of developmental areas. It focus on skills in the order they would tend to appear in typically developing children. IBI Therapy is designed to improve key learning skills in the areas of cognitive, language, and social development. For the highest success it is imperative that intervention be started early and provided intensively during children’s best learning periods, which is during a regular daytime schedule.

We have a 3 step process we like to use when consulting.

STEP 1: involves meeting the child and speak briefly to those who know the child and understand what the challenges are,  also observe the child's level of interaction and take a look at their academic level.

STEP 2:  A Detailed functional assessment will be done by a BCBA (certified behavior analyst) From there we will develop a personalized program for the child that can be implemented by one of our instructors.

STEP 3: This step is directed towards the  Parents of the child . We empower the parents with providing them with individualized and specialized training to assist the parent with feeling confident and comfortable with keeping the consistency of the program at home or in the community when they are on there own.

Our assessments are all done by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and depending on the age of the child and his or her needs,we  will use one of the available systems (lVB-Mapp, ABBLS-R, AFLS, ESDM, RFT) to conduct the assessment.

A Behavioral Assessment we give us a review of more than 500 skills from 25 skill areas including language, social interaction, self-help, academic and motor skills that most typically developing children acquire prior to entering kindergarten or school. This allows our parents and professionals to pinpoint obstacles that have been preventing the child from obtaining new skills and to then develop a comprehensive, highly personalized, language-based program
